Olympian Khalil Thompson visits Sheridan Fencing Academy
We had a great visits from US Olympian Khalil Thompson on November 24, 2024.
He talked to our fencers about his Olympic journey, the importance of perseverances, and how he spent his first several years in the sport regularly losing. But, instead of giving up, he chose to dedicate himself to his training, and eventual found great success.
Since those early days, Khalil has gone on to represent Team USA in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics— placing 8th—and won a Pan Am team gold medal in 2019.
Afterward the chat, Khalil fenced with our fencers, and everyone loved it and learned a lot!
